Freeman Ready for Oklahoma Tripleheader This Weekend
Inside Line Promotions – LONGVIEW, Texas (June 16, 2014) – Cody Freeman used a rare weekend off to be a spectator.
Freeman went to Devil’s Bowl Speedway in Mesquite, Texas, on Saturday to take in the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour action from the half-mile oval.
“I relaxed by watching races instead of participating in them,” he said.
That changes this week with his first trip to Oklahoma for a trio of micro sprint races.
“I’m very excited going into this weekend,” he said. “We know the competition is tough when we travel to Oklahoma. There’s some really great talent in that area. We are using it as a measuring exercise for where we are at with our program.”
Freeman, who has seven top fives in 12 races throughout Texas this season, will kick off the weekend on Thursday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa.
“We went there three times last year,” he said. “We only had moderate success there, but it really showed us the level of where we’re at and where we needed to improve in our organization.”
Freeman will then make his debut at Outlaw Motorsports Park in Wainwright on Friday and at Port City Raceway in Tulsa on Saturday.
“If we can come back from this weekend with three top-five finishes then we’ll be ecstatic,” he said. “We want to win every weekend, but being able to go up there and compete with that talent would be big. We also look forward to seeing some of our Oklahoma friends.”
