TULSA, Okla. – A weekend Bradley Fezard had been looking forward to since the beginning of race season turned out to be one he'd like to forget. The Bonnerdale, Ark. racer headed west to the Sooner State for his fourth attempt there in 2015, this time at Port City Raceway’s “Nonwing Nationals.” The trip eventually resulted in struggling through chassis damage early on.

The event began for Fezard from the pole position of his stock heat race. Starting alongside a former champion of the prestigious race Steven Shebester, Fezard admittedly said he was a bit anxious, and he was too early on the start and was sent back one row. A restart later and contact with the frontstretch cone relegated him to the tail, and he was unable to recover. The outlaw heat, however, went much worse. Going third, Fezard was stuck on the bottom early, and moved to the high side as soon as possible. Soon after, contact from another car sent him into a massive wheelstand and then hard into the outside wall.

The damage was extensive, bending the chassis first and foremost. The team skipped the stock B-Main as repairs were still underway, but Fezard would make one last shot on the night in the outlaw last chance race. Starting scratch in 21st, transferring was next to impossible, but the 15-year-old rallied forward 12 positions to finish ninth.

After Friday’s misfortune, the team decided that, as they were already over four hours from home, they’d continue the weekend as planned, bent Stallard Chassis and all. The heat races lineups for the Saturday finale set Fezard starting inside row two in both the stock and outlaw classes. In stock, Honda power kept Fezard where he started in third, and then followed that effort with a fifth-place run in outlaw.

The heat race results forced Fezard to run both B-Mains. Having his hands full with a chassis that was noticeably bent, he would roll off of the grid in the fifth spot for the stock event. The driver quickly found that running the bottom was out of the question considering the damage his car sustained on Friday. When he moved up top, he found the car became a little more bearable to drive. Struggling on the start, he fell back several spots. Ultimately, Fezard would wind up seventh. In the outlaw class race, the lineup put him starting third. Again stuck on the inside of the track on the start, he fell back until he could move to the cushion. Fezard pushed his bruised and battered ride trying to make the show. When the checkered flew, Fezard came up just short with a fourth-place finish.

Fezard would like to thank Brandon’s Ranch and Aaron’s Powdercoating, as well as his mom and dad, Frank Galusha at Eagle Motorsports Inc, Justin Lovins with ML Amsoil, and his great fans for their continued support.
