Oakes Motorsports set to kick off 2016 season at Port City Raceway on April 1st and 2nd

Dupo, IL (March 1, 2016) After already making two big announcements in recent months, Oakes Motorsports is now releasing its 2016 midget racing schedule. Over 20 events are currently planned for the Oakes Motorsports #52 midget as the team plans to compete primarily with the Lucas Oil POWRi West midget series this season. As the team has already announced, veteran driver, Andrew Deal, will pilot the Sage Fruit/Burk Oil sponsored GRP Chassis midget. Team owner, Roger Oakes is excited to have someone with Andrew’s experience behind the wheel and believes that 2016 will be another great season for his Oakes Motorsports team.
To start the season, Deal and Oakes will head to Port City Raceway for the 3rd Annual Turnpike Challenge with the Lucas Oil POWRi National and POWRi West midgets. Last year, nearly 70 cars filled the Port City Raceway pit area and this year’s show is looking to be just as big. Following Port City, the team will head to one of the biggest tracks on the POWRi West schedule, Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Last year, the Oakes Motorsports #52 had a runner-up finish at this race track so Deal will be looking to follow-up with another podium finish. Other highlights planned for 2016 include races at I-55 Raceway in Pevely, Missouri and several visits to Texas tracks including Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Boyd Raceway in Boyd, RPM Speedway in Crandall, and Red River Speedway in Wichita Falls.
