Bryan Hulbert – TULSA, Okla. (March 21, 2018) Founded in 2017 by Matt and Ashleigh Ward in conjunction with Kim and Jason Randolph, RW Chassis and Components made its first appearance with the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass at Port City Raceway Clash on March 8, 9, and 10.

Premiering with three cars in competition between Matt Ward (A-Class and Non-Wing), Jase Randolph (A-Class and Non-Wing), Noah Gass (Restricted) the overall consensus was positive as each team was able to move forward during the course of the weekend.

“Our biggest goal on the whole weekend was to test and gather notes and we got a lot to work with,” commented Matt Ward. “We’ve already started moving things around in the cars to where things fit better with how the driver sits in the car as well as how the cars work, along with different ideas for safety.”

Asked what the deciding factor was to create the RW Chassis, Ward replied, “It was a combination of things. We basically looked at what we were running, what we could order, and what we could add to that order and put in place our ideas of how the car should be built. We’re not here to copy anyone’s car. Our goal is to be able to custom build a car the way the customer wants it. We’re set up where we can build nearly everything in-house. Our cars, bumpers, and axles are all built in our shop so we can control the quality of what’s going on the track so we know the car we deliver is what the customer wanted, and is as safe as can be.”

All RW Chassis welding is overseen by Jason Randolph with assistance by Jase Randolph and Matt Ward who oversee the manufacturing of all bolt-on components.

“All of our cars are built by hand. From stock tubing to finished product, we hand bend and fit everything,” stated Jason Randolph who is certified in TIG, MIG, FCAW, and Stick and has been a professional welder for over 10 years as a Pipe Fitter/Welder.

Looking at what the future holds for the RW Chassis and Components brand, the company is focused on simply building one car at a time.

“We’re not ever going to get an assembly line attitude on the cars where we think we need to build 200 cars a year,” stated Ward. “It would be nice to have that kind of demand, but our priority is the customer and what they want, so as far as the cars, we’re going to keep improving on what we have and work towards being able to eventually be a fully in-house company for all aspects of the car.”
